Your future self will thank you for spending two minutes reading this advert if you want to develop into a H&S Manager.

My visit to this business allowed a fascinating insight to what will be one of the North West's best SHE Advisor/Officer roles in the FMCG sector. Especially if you want to progress your career into becoming a H&SE Manager.

It is a huge site with almost 1,000 people meaning you will have the opportunity to a wide range of H&S risks but also be given the freedom to solve them & some up with solutions (the HSE Lead who I met gave some examples of what you could be doing I can share with you).

This means you will develop some fantastic skills and experience, within a framework that will be supportive (there are 8 in the H&S, Environmental & Security team) and a manager that is both knowledgeable and understanding.

On top of this, the company has a great track record of progressing and promoting their internal employees (a high % by industry standards are promoted internally).

Related to the above, they have one of the biggest L&D functions in the sector and training is important to them - specifically related to this role would be the opportunity for a NEBOSH Diploma to be supported.

So, if you want to come into an environment that will offer something different each day, this is it. What they are looking for is someone that has excellent interpersonal skills and can influence the team rather than read H&S regulations to them from a textbook, it is all about people engagement for this role.

Background wise you can come from food production, broader FMCG/manufacturing or perhaps logistics. If you have recently completed your H&S apprenticeship and have quickly developed in your role this is still worth you sending your CV in for.
