Reports to: Production Assistant Manager

💷 A competitive pay rate of £10.90 per hour, with overtime at £16.35 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and pack fresh gutted salmon and trout.
  • Adding value to products, such as piping sauce and placing skewers on fish (Factory Dependent) Pinboning.
  • Labelling and sleeving. Work safely and efficiently to produce high quality products.
  • Contribute to achieving the daily output schedule for production.
  • Work in a way which minimises or eliminates food safety risks such as cross contamination.
  • Segregate and store waste in designated places ensuring you adhere to the ‘Fish on Floor’ Procedure.
  • Ensure finished product is separated from intake materials or work in progress to prevent cross contamination or any other hazards to food safety, including allergens.
  • Ensure the correct use of knives and other utensils, signing in and out and reporting any loss or damage.
  • Ensure that the hygiene standards are always maintained for equipment, and that all storage areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • To wear protective clothing and personal protective equipment provided in accordance with health and safety and food safety requirements.
  • To report accidents and near misses immediately and assist in investigation where required.
  • To undertake any reasonable request by a line manager, in assisting in the manufacturing process.

  • Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across all departments.
  • Enjoy working as a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Practical hands-on approach; able to follow procedures logically and systematically.
  • Passionate about product quality, taking pride in their work  to deliver to specification
  • An eye for detail, relating to quality issues as well as production issues Understand and adhere to Hygiene and Health & Safety guidelines as specified by the company.
  • Reliable, honest and punctual Flexible with a positive approach to undertaking a variety of tasks within Production.
  • Flexibility will be required when there maybe unforeseen issues and could require longer working hours.
  • Also there could be times when overtime is required to cover promotions and holiday absences.

Physical Demands

Work is of a manual nature so activities such as lifting, bending, standing and pushing will be frequent.

Personal Protective Equipment is provided but as the production environment is chilled, suitable clothing should be worn.
