Our client is a well-established manufacturer in the chilled food arena who supply to the UK major multiples. With a distinctive market presence coupled with strong consumer understanding and excellent customer service, they are now looking for a Development Chef to drive NPD projects and keep their portfolio fresh, exciting and in line with the latest trends.
Reporting to the Head Innovations Chef you’ll play an influential role in creating delicious concepts that your customer as well as consumers will love.
You’ll be working as part of the Central Innovations team to deliver the NPD Pipeline ensuring you bring the food agenda to life by managing a number of product briefs, revitalising existing ranges and developing new products.
You will be developing recipes using your culinary, ingredients and food trends knowledge, making sure they are in line with customer expectations. You’ll be presenting ideas and concepts to entice consumers with thrilling new flavour profiles. The role will also include preparing customer samples and conducting competitive shopping, all the while developing your skills and helping your team stay ahead in this fast-moving chilled sector.
The role would suit a capable NPD chef who possess excellent culinary knowledge, an obsessive passion for food and an understanding of up-and-coming market trends. You’ll have previous food manufacturing experience where you have developed some amazing products for the retail market. Experience of working with retail / major multiple customers would be an advantage.
You'll have a natural ability to build relationships with your customers and enthuse them with your knowledge, food values and inspirational ideas. As well as being a personable, charismatic and forward-thinking Chef, you must also have impeccable presentation and project management skills to really excel in this dynamic role.
