Hygiene Operative - Northallerton, North Yorkshire

Salary - £22,932 

Due to the increase footprint of our site and additional operational hours being worked, we are looking to recruit an additional cleaner to join our Canning department. The successful applicant must have previous cleaning experience.

The hours of working will be set between Monday to Friday, however we are flexible as to what hours are best for the successful candidate.

The successful candidate needs to be trustworthy and committed, self-disciplined with a positive attitude with the ability to work independently to a high cleaning standard.

The main duties include:

  • Performing daily cleaning of the canning production area. Including, but not exclusively, walls, ledges, floors, drains, platforms, covers, conveyor framework, door panels etc.
  • Performing deep cleaning of production machinery not in operation as requested by the day shift manager.
  • Ensuring all cleaning is performed safely and recorded accurately.
  • Completing the weekly Hygiene schedule for cleaning in the canning department.
  • Being part of a professional, empowered team committed to maintaining the canning production hall and the equipment to the highest hygiene standards
  • Ensure that all company and departmental cleaning procedures and guidelines are always adhered to
  • Ensure all cleaning is performed Safely and performed whilst always following the company risk assessments
  • Report any damage found to any item being cleaned immediately to the day shift manager or shift manager.
  • Confer with the shift managers, shift Supervisors and Team Leaders to coordinate safe access for cleaning activities when required.
  • Perform cleaning activities to a high standard and ensure all records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform any additional cleaning identified by the day shift manager to support production when Audit and Customer Visits are planned.
