Technical Sales Manager - South East - Food Machinery – Home based

Salary £47,000 pa - £55,000 pa depending on experience + Generous Commission

The basic salary on offer for the Technical Sales Manager role is £48k to £55k pa (dependent on experience). Plus life assurance at 2 x salary. 25 days holiday + bank holidays. An exciting opportunity is now available for an individual to manage existing customers and untap extensive sales opportunities.

The Role

The Technical Sales Manager will cover the South East territory consisting of all areas South of Milton Keynes. Uniquely, the Technical Sales Manager will work closely with the Sales Director who is exiting the business in 12-18 months time. To ensure a smooth transition, the jobholder will benefit from the Sales Director introducing them to each individual customer and will provide detailed information on customers and technical product specifications. This is therefore a fantastic opportunity to learn about the customers and products from the Sales Director and be given the inside track that will ensure your success in the role.

The individual appointed will be given autonomy to manage their time how they see fit and will develop and implement the commercial sales plan and deliver profitable business across the South East. The Technical Sales Manager will apply a fresh and tenacious approach to the sales & marketing function, driving sales of high-value capital equipment. The individual appointed will spend 50% of their time maintaining existing customer relationships and the other 50% establishing new relationships, as they develop the significant opportunities that exist to expand the customer base.

The Sales Manager will represent the business with integrity, whilst offering technical solutions and delivering for customers. There will be an opportunity to develop and improve the robustness of internal systems and put your stamp on commercial aspects of the business.

The Sales Manager will be involved in day-to-day sales tasks such as, following up-leads, budgeting, and undertaking sales and marketing activities that will grow the sales pipeline. They will work closely with the wider senior management team on formulating the sales strategy and will regularly monitor and refine the plan, providing feedback to Directors. Working closely with the Project teams, the jobholder will review customer’s technical requirements and ensure lead times are deliverable.

The Person

It is expected the individual appointed will have an Engineering background, combined with a track-record of delivering profitable sales of Food Machinery or associated Capital Equipment. The role will cover a territory in the South East of England and will involve travelling around the South East, to visit customers and represent the business at trade shows and exhibitions. Ref 3425
