The Company

This multi-site food manufacturer create a plethora of innovative food products for their prestigious customers, who are always one step ahead of their competitors. A new Packaging Developer opportunity has arisen to support their Innovations Team in bringing exciting new packaging concepts to shelves across the nation.

The Role

Reporting to the Packaging Innovation Manager, you will work closely with a key customer to create and deliver first to market packaging solutions.

You will support in delivering the packaging sustainability strategy, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure priorities are aligned with business objectives. You will be encouraged to expand your industry knowledge, exploring new material and packaging formats, seeking out new packing technologies, so that creative concepts can be built into credible opportunities for the business and customer.

You will liaise with packaging suppliers to create concepts that are on trend in terms of new materials, sustainability and recycling initiatives. Along with working on new innovation projects, you will play a key role in revitalising existing packaging. Using technical knowledge you will overcome any hurdles or issues that arise, in order to achieve commercially viable products for your customers.

The Person

We’re looking for an ambitious Packaging Developer who has experience within the food industry and is now looking to a step up into a customer focused role.  You’ll have knowledge of a range of packaging materials have been involved with sustainable packaging projects.  A Packaging qualification or Food Technology degree would be desirable for this role.

You will enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment, keeping with new trends and being creative with packaging design.  You’ll be a confident communicator, having to liaise closely with key customers in order to collaborate on new projects. You also be able to present in a passionate and engaging manner, helping to convey your ideas and getting buy in from key stakeholders.
