Job Details
Protea Recruitment is working with one of the UK's leading manufacturers in their sector. This award-winning Food Manufacturer is looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their leadership team. Due to their location, a full relocation would be essential for this role. However, there is no sponsorship available for this role, so UK work to right already in place is essential
The Production Manager will be accountable for all operational Team Members, Health & Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Regulatory, Compliance, Financial, and Continuous Improvement initiative adherence within the designated areas. Maintain Operational and Team compliance. Communicate production updates, improvements and performance to local team members. Coach, train and develop team members to achieve “Best in Class” personal and organisational performance. This role is accountable for operational H&S, Delivery, Productivity and Financial performance, controlling the day-to-day issues utilising the maintenance team with feedback to the Engineering Manager. Feedback to Engineering Manager on Key issues that could impact production.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Communication
- Formal Operational team updates
- Daily, weekly, monthly briefings to shop floor team members
- Report daily, weekly and monthly plant metric to direct team, senior internal and external management teams
- Effective negotiation, delegation and escalation where appropriate
- Facilitate / Participate in shop floor tours
Continuous Improvement
- Support and drive operational improvements aligned with MPS objectives
- Provide necessary resources to support Kaizen events.
- Champion Kaizen events and facilitate teamwork, daily Gemba walks
HR & Development
- Partner with HR on all people-related issues – Weekly formal review
- Accountable for all instruction/policy training for direct team
- Responsible for team disciplinary issues
- Annual PDRs for direct team
- Effective coaching and development plans for all Direct team members
- Direct team and production recruitment and selection aligned with business requirements
- Team and department objectives aligned with business initiatives
Financial
- Control Cost Centre Budget
- OT
- Establish capital investment requirement for fiscal budget aligned with peer team
- Champion cost reductions initiates for operational areas
