This role could enable you to deal with customers across Europe and help develop category and insight strategies for each territory.

The business has used the UK market as a bit of a guinea pig over the past ~10 years to prove category insight best practices to help deliver results with customers. The wider business operates across Europe and they are rolling these practices out across their customer base. It's a very exciting time for the business and the category team in particular as a result.

The business supplies retailers, food manufacturers and foodservice channels. They use Kantar and Nielsen data and spend upwards of six figures to give them access to the data required to make a difference. Data in the food manufacturing and foodservice channels is harder to obtain, but they make use of in-house data, Mintel and IGD too. Given the lack of data sources in some of the channels that they serve, they are often proactive and use sources that they have to create a category story and customer journey to support commercial functions.

The role will report to the Sales & Marketing Director who has a track record of mentoring and developing people to reach their potential.

One of the drawbacks of this position is that you will need to travel to engage customers and internal stakeholders in Europe. That will mean some time away from home. However, it will also offer you a great opportunity to make an impact on the business and with the European supermarkets to develop customer insight and category plans.
