This food ingredients business is proud of its record in attracting and then developing its employees, which is why vacancies here are few and far between – people don’t leave! This is a rare opportunity and it’s come about because of business growth – a new Account Manager is needed.

Your customer portfolio will mainly consist of manufacturers in the meat category, including some key players. With customers across the UK, you’ll be home-based, but expected in the office once per week – which means that you must be based in northern England or Scotland for that to be feasible. Managing and growing a selection of key accounts, you’ll also be tasked with developing new business – and as the company has a very good reputation, you’ll have the products, the supply chain and the competitive pricing to open doors – it’ll be your tenacity that acts as the final piece of the puzzle.

We’re looking for someone who has at least 3 years in account management within the B2B food ingredients sector. You’ll be able to demonstrate win/win negotiations, strong commercial acumen and some key business wins. Experience of selling into the meat industry would be very advantageous – spending time in an abattoir isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s part and parcel of a role like this. You’ll be entering into a really niche area of the industry, so very good training will be given – which might involve time away from home. Therefore, flexibility, a willingness to get stuck in and a thirst to learn are all essential to succeed here.
