Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious Quality/Product Controller to join their business.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a Food professional looking for their role upwards to join a well-respected food manufacturing company that supplies premium products to a number of retailers.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Principal role to ensure all products are inspected and assessed in line with business standards. Ensuring that arrivals of product are inspected and assessed according to customer requirements
* Assist the commercial teams in making sound decisions on matters relating to product quality, product allocation and any relevant technical requirements, ensuring they understand customer specification and product requirements
* Create value by managing product quality to meet customer specification and by providing a logical voice of reason at difficult times when product is borderline. Manage a workable non-compliance procedure
* Complete stock checks accurately and in timely manner with relevant feedback to commercial teams
* Ensure returns are investigated on return and the commercial team advised of actions required and of any issues with a financial or customer impact
* Provide a level of flexibility that ensures the business always have cover for quality management issues
* Having a good understanding of fruit quality across a range of products is essential
