Opportunity to join a fast-paced, procurement organisation renowned for their innovative procurement solutions.
This is a leading, fast-paced procurement business providing innovative procurement services within the foodservice and hospitality sectors. This role reports into the Head of Retail and coming in as Category Development Manager you will manage a large spend area across the Bakery and Savoury Categories and set the strategy for your Category on behalf of a key clients looking for opportunities to increase and improve your area.
- Develop relationships with key suppliers that promote efficient ways of working with an innovative and strategic approach
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of goods and services meet the quality, service, and price required
- Full awareness of market trends identifying opportunities to develop ranges and excite their customers
- Retention activities related to categories, suppliers, and products within assigned portfolios
You will need the following:
- Strong Category procurement experience and ideally within the ambient/grocery food categories
- Experience of complex supplier, distributor, and client management
- Strong decision maker, with good commercial acumen who is comfortable working under pressure
- Solid analytical skills, with an ability to manage and interpret data to make effective decisions
- A collaborative team player that brings people together to deliver results
- Strategic thinker who can demonstrate impact and influence across an organisation
- A "Can Do" attitude to resolve issues and take learnings to drive ongoing Continuous Improvement
The role offers a couple of days a week working from home, but you should live within a reasonable commute of the office location
