They are now seeking a Technical Manager to join their mission and act as the architect for their future success. 

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Technical, this role will look to provide a big impact at their brand new manufacturing site; it boasts industry leading technology and uses renewable energy that reduces cost and emissions. At the site, you will be responsible for championing food safety and product quality, ensuring site compliance and supporting the completion of all technical tasks. You will ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met, and also strive for continuous improvement to meet ever changing industry standards. 

An integral part of this role is managing a small but growing quality team. You will manage their day-to-day tasks, acting as a role model and a source of support to help and develop their professional capabilities. Together you will manage and conduct internal audits, ensure compliance for third party audits and maintain HACCP standards. You will be responsible for the coordination of quality management systems, shelf life and lab tests as well as the investigation of customer complaints and root cause analysis. 

You will directly communicate with suppliers and customers, ensuring you build positive working relationships to better understand and meet their demands. You will also liaise across the wider business including production and operations to support and manage the implementation of new procedures and programmes that will ensure the site is operating to the highest standard and will always be “visit ready”. You will be happily hands on in the factory, supporting the team, anticipating technical issues and proposing solutions and future preventative actions where possible. 

The Person

Suit an exceptional Quality or Technical Manager with well-rounded experience gained within a high-risk or produce manufacturing environment. It is essential that you have experience managing and implementing HACCP and BRC standards with a successful track record of achieving excellence.

The company are leading the charge for producing food at little cost to the environment, so an interest in sustainable food systems as well as having the passion to grow and develop within an expanding business is key. You must have excellent technical knowledge with a strong understanding of quality assurance requirements. You will have amazing interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.  You must also relish the challenge of working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment with the agility to manage change, spot new opportunities and grow with the business.

The site is remote and is not reachable by public transport, therefore a full UK driving license is essential. As the role will be site based 5 days a week, we are keen to find candidates who are local to the Dover area or are happy to relocate here.
