Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious Technical Assistant to join their business.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a Food or Fresh Produce professional looking for their role upwards to join a well-respected food manufacturing company that supplies premium products to a number of retailers.

Key Tasks:
* Write technical specs and labels, liaise with suppliers for approval
* Update procedures, guides and production records
* Support new product development (NPD) and product launches
* Conduct audits of the manufacturing facility for compliance
* Assist with customer complaints, identify root cause and recommend preventive actions
* Respond to customer queries on behalf of the Technical Manager
* Be part of the internal auditing team, report audit findings
* Complete lab submission forms, arrange allergen and shelf life sampling
* Produce reports and meeting minutes

Skills/Experience:
* Problem solving and analytical thinking
* Great listening and communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills
* Experience in a technical/admin role is desirable
* Knowledge of BRC and retailer standards is beneficial
* Additional qualifications in HACCP, food safety and auditing are desirable
* Interest in food science, food technology, nutrition or related subject is desirable
