The Ideal Candidate:
You will ideally be an experienced entrepreneurial sales professional with an understanding of the fresh produce, food ingredients or packaging industry. A bachelor's degree in a technical field (i.e Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering) would be preferred. You will have either built a sales territory from the ground up or grown sales/ market share significantly.
Critical thinking with good judgement and a technical mindset are all core requirements to you being successful in this role. Being persuasive but also collaborative and honest will take you a long way in this position and will lead to success in the role.
About the Job:
In this role you will be driving sales and margin growth across both new and existing accounts in the Fresh Produce and Food Ingredients industries, developing long-term relationships with customers is the key to success in this role. Taking a collaborative, technical approach with new and target customers will be beneficial in adding value to finished product solutions.
You will be working alongside the R&D / Marketing and Product Development teams to discover customer demand trends and hidden market opportunities for new / modified products.
Finally, analysing marketing information on pricing, product quality, applications, changing trends, economic indicators and competitive activity are a large part of this role and will require a large amount of technical knowledge and an overall ambition and excitement for the role.
