Job Title: Buyer – Food Manufacturing

Hours: Flexible/Hybrid

Salary: Competitive and dependent upon experience

The Role:

• Maintaining and developing relationships with current and new suppliers to build long term trading partnerships.
• Supporting supply chain to ensure that deliveries arrive in full, on time and correctly documented
• Working with suppliers to ensure product quality is achieved and maintained and working collaboratively to deal with any issues. 
• Sales tracking and analysis.  Working with the Consultant Buyer and Head of Business Development to analyse customer buying trends.
• Leasing with other departments to keep them up to date with delivery schedules, lead times etc.
• Visiting suppliers in the UK and Europe.
• Ensuring that the correct paperwork is prepared and liaising with suppliers and our accounts team to resolve any issues.
• Report preparation and analysis.

The Candidate:

• Exposure of Procurement or buying in food manufacturing or FMCG is essential
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships at all levels with the ability to influence.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Track record of delivering projects on time.
• A willingness to visit suppliers in the UK and abroad to learn about their operations
