Sensory Technician - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support all sensory testing including test set up requirements and sample preparation

• Support the analysis & interpretation of data, updating data trackers & providing data summaries as required

• Own the Shelf-Life program

• Support the Sensory screening programme, and manage set up and execution of internal and external employee/panel screening

• Support Sensory & Consumer Insights activities as required

• Manage the hygiene requirements and maintenance of laboratory environment

• Work closely with the Sensory Scientist/Project Manager to manage for any ad hoc sensory related activities

• Manage sample storage as well as laboratory supplies

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• A background in Food Science, Sensory/Consumer Science, or related discipline

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field

• Experience of working in Sensory/Consumer Science would be an advantage

• Excellent planning and organisational skills

• Excellent people skills

• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team

• Ability to prioritize and meet tight timelines

• Ability to flexibly work within a highly dynamic working environment

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Fully operational in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Sound knowledge of basic statistical analysis methods

• Experience in using Compusense Hand is an advantage
