Our client is a well-known food retailer with some fantastic values and an innovation-led strategy. They are a leading specialist retailer, that has an award-winning range of products and offers fantastic value for money. Their estate of stores has a mix of formats and locations to serve their customers. They work at a fast pace and are constantly striving to develop a better range of products and improve their customers' experience. About the Role
This role will focus on the delivery of commercial results through effective buying, category management, range reviews, innovation and supplier management. You will utilise your retail buying and commercial experience to drive performance within the category and deliver the best possible range of products for the customer, at a great price. You will be able to work with branded suppliers to drive efficiency and long-term relationships to ensure future supply. You will be very commercial and be able to deliver results first and foremost.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will come from a food retail environment and have a proven track record of consistently delivering commercial results. You will have experience dealing with brands and understand the high level of negotiations that come with those suppliers. You will be a team player and will work closely with other members to deliver results. You will have a good understanding of the supply chain. You will be able to innovate and improve commercial performance.
Buying and/or commercial experience, as well as branded category experience, is a must for this role. As is the ability to drive commercial performance and deliver results.
Our clients' process consists of 2 stages, with a potential third if meetings have occurred off-site. This can take time to complete but they are motivated to bring the right person into the team as soon as possible.
