PROCESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

This is a great opportunity to join our team and continue the great work in bringing to life our condiments manufacturing facility, located in Peterborough, UK. Our vision is to build a sustainable, innovative McCormick factory-of-the-future to support our Flavour Solutions customers.
The Process Development Manager role directs new technologies development and implementation and supports all new product development and qualifications activities for all McCormick Peterborough leveraging development tools, skills and expertise sauce and condiments teams. Also, the Process Development Manager identifies, creates, and implements best practices and programmes, new procedures which drive business growth through efficiency improvements of NPD activities in product and process implementation.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day to day management of process technologists to deliver trial and launch agenda for product, process and equipment implementation working closely with peers to align & focus resources.
- This includes raw material projects for Comprehensive Continuous Improvement, de-risk & supply shortages as well as delivery of Net Sales Value and budget requirements.
- Manage the delivery of staff development & training programmes to develop our technical experts to improve overall technical capability and skills.
- Develop & drive Practical Process Improvement agenda for procedures, Ways of Working for PBO Research & Development, aligning business goals.
- Project management & work-stream lead for transition and equipment/process projects representing R&D.
- Researching and understanding Technology Platforms in sauces and condiments to set up testing & labs as Centre of Excellence & benchmark WoW.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science/ Technology Chemical Engineering or a similar scientific discipline.
- Six Sigma qualification would be an advantage.
- Process & Ingredient functionality knowledge with strong experience in sauces & condiments.
- Strong line management experience.
- Knowledge of equipment settings in house and at suppliers.
- Strong communication skills with can do attitude and ability to take calculated risks.
- Ability to influence others (internally & externally) and build effective relationships (internally & externally).
- Strong communication, innovation and influencing skills.
