Maintenance Engineer

Main tasks:

• To provide technical support in response to breakdowns on plant and equipment, including good fault-finding techniques.
• Deliver electrical and mechanical maintenance across the site on all equipment.
• Knowledge of PLCs and controls, investors, and drives.
• Respond promptly and effectively to ensure quick resolution to equipment issues to minimise downtime and efficiency problems.
• Participate constructively as a member of the team, keeping everyone informed and proactively sharing your knowledge and expertise.
• Apply lean thinking techniques to ensure the productive capacity of the plant is optimised and improved thus demonstrating commitment towards achieving factory targets, including prompt start-up times.
• Work with site personnel and commissioning engineers to ensure required process skills training is performed for all new equipment;
• Optimise spare holding to adequate levels to maintain equipment efficiency;
• Ensure compliance with all site policies and rules for quality, safety and the environment.
• Understand and contribute using a range of risk assessment techniques to ensure the safety of plant, equipment and people.
• Support a culture that enhances behavioural awareness of quality, safety and the environment;
• Demonstrate visible leadership within the factory by applying good behavioural safety principles in all activities.
• Competent IT/computer skills including holistic literate.

Skills and Experience:

• Apprentice served as Mechanical/Electrical or Engineer qualified to City & Guilds standard or equivalent experience.
• Ideally continuous exposure to relevant work procedures, post-apprenticeship or equivalent experience within a factory engineering environment with a proven track record
