Technical Manager

The Company

This is a great opportunity to join a growing food production company creating bespoke food products for a number of expanding restaurant groups in the UK. They are now looking for a dedicated Technical Manager to join their thriving team and uphold their high quality standards whilst delivering performance improvements with tangible results.

The Role

In this influential role, you’ll use your leadership skills, vision and drive to take overall responsibility for the technical function. You’ll ensure all prepared and finished products are produced in line with quality, safety and legislation requirements as well as customer expectations. You will develop and implement the Quality Management Systems whilst continually reviewing processes, control points and KPI information to monitor team performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site. You will also manage customer and external audits, making improvements and ensuring site accreditation. 

Working closely with various departments, you’ll ensure the smooth day to day running of the site, guaranteeing non-conformances and food safety risks are resolved quickly, effectively and with integrity. You will also be the first point of contact for internal and external colleagues, suppliers and customers, effectively managing communications on technical matters. You will develop key relationships and offer respected and trusted opinions in a professional manner. 

The Person

This role will suit a Technical Manager with well-rounded experience gained within the food manufacturing industry. It is essential that you have experience of HACCP and maintaining accreditations such as BRC and SALSA standards, with a successful track record of driving continuous improvement and achieving excellence. 

You’ll need to have excellent attention to detail as well as first class organisation and people management skills in order to lead and motivate your team to achieve the best results. You must also have great communication skills that will enable you to liaise effectively to influence customers and colleagues at all business levels.
