Excellent opportunity for Multi-Skilled Engineer with Electrical bias to join a well-established, food manufacturing company

Our Multi-Skilled Engineers are part of a multi-disciplined team to carry out first line maintenance tasks and improvements on equipment throughout the factory, efficiently and effectively to enable maintenance targets to be met.

ABOUT THE JOB.

Assume responsibility for the mechanical and electrical integrity of equipment by carrying out the following:

  • Effective planned maintenance inspections, reviewing frequencies, parts used, mean time between failure rates etc
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance schedules; carry out safety checks on equipment in line with legislation and best practice
  • Overhaul and repair of plant; continually monitor plant conditions and report defects
  • Deliver a consistent and improving plant reliability through the effective management and monitoring of downtime, PPM conformance, engineering planning.
  • Consider cost implications when carrying out designated tasks to minimise wasted time, materials and costs
  • Ensure the upkeep and reliability of all plant and equipment in your designated area by feeding back requirements to the Planner/SEM
  • Be able to deal with any unscheduled and emergency maintenance work, including all fault finding and necessary repair and striving to identify the root cause in each occasion
  • Involvement in projects, continuous improvement, and productivity improvement projects

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR…

You’ll already be a qualified Engineer, with City & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject. We’re looking for forward thinking, improvement focussed Engineers who want to make a step change in our factory and lead it to success. You’ll also have…

  • Excellent electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds level, NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical and/or electrical discipline with corresponding practical experience
  • Fault-finding, troubleshooting, diagnostics
  • Ability to train effectively
  • Have a “right first time” work ethic and use root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons behind problems and failures and act on the findings
  • Experience of working within a Maintenance Department     
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
