Job Description and Person Spec – Factory Manager
Are you a Production Manager looking for a step up into a factory manager or a factory manager looking for a more autonomous role?
My clients brand stretch throughout Scotland, England even abroad and due to a change in personnel are looking for the “right candidate who will oversee all production and dispatch activity across all teams. To organise teams effectively ensuring that there is sufficient raw material, and staff resources to achieve customer orders are right first time, in full and on time. You will be expected to collaborate with all team managers to help improve productivity & yield, product quality and staff turnover rates within their areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure a safe and secure working environment delivering our “safe food, made safely” philosophy, by continuously building our food safety culture
- Ensure all teams are fully staffed & prove all reports are inducted, trained, and recertified as required by their role
- Support your direct reports to ensure there is adequate cover during absence and holidays
- Clear communication of all planned activity, daily, weekly, and 28-day plans
- Manage staff levels, including additional agency staff
- Monitor daily/weekly labour KPI’s and understand variances to standard
- Consult with planning to schedule production resources
- Ensure daily orders are completed, on time and in full
- Allocation of material for departments, consult with planning to ensure scheduling of material
- Support the finance team through analysis of performance against standard costs to ensure achievement. Improving accuracy as well as being the primary contact to discuss and review variances, usage, and labour and to get stock issues resolved.
- Ensure process instructions are strictly followed, paper documentation and ERP recording is completed accurately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by ensuring key colleagues are available and involved

Job title:
- Factory Manager
- 40 hours per week
- Hours will vary depending on the circumstances
- Direct reports: Yard Supervisor, Production Manager, Dispatch Manager
- Indirect reports: 30-50 depending on season flex
Compensation:
- £45,000 to 4=55,000
