General Manager - Food Service
Our client is a leading player in the food service industry, supplying a wide number of customers both locally, regionally and through other networks, nationally.
As a result of reorganisation, they are now looking for a General Manager to steer one of their busy and expanding food service operations. The role will involve managing the general distribution operation of perishable products, managing the sales team, ensuring that sales and margin targets are met as well as managing the entire site within the cost parameters set in the budget. The business ethos is 'The customer comes first' and this role will play a major part in achieving this ethos.
With full site P+L responsibility you will probably be from a food service or food distribution background, although we will consider other applications from people with experience running an operation in other fast moving environments. Either way you will have energy, pace and drive and be comfortable managing a team in a very fast and demanding environment.
The role involves managing a team which operates 24 hours per day 5 days per week, so it will be an early start and therefore an early finish.
