The Role

An exciting opportunity for a talented Account Executive to join our busy Commercial Team.

Applications are invited from committed, reliable and proactive individuals, capable of operating efficiently in a fast paced, dynamic working environment. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident of liaising at all levels both internally and externally, helping to drive and optimise business collaboration.

Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail, the Account Executive will play a pivotal role maintaining relationships and developing a number of high-profile retail accounts, ensuring expectations and targets are met and monitored as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the commercial manager with general account administration
  • Effectively manage and report Barfoots and Retailers data
  • Build effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Use retailer sales data and trends to drive insights and commercial action to increase sales
  • Manage the new and existing product development process proactively from start to finish supported by the wider business to develop a clear strategy that delivers YOY growth
  • Work closely with the commercial manager to manage and influence the customers along with the opportunity to take part in customer reviews and visits
  • Conduct regular store visits to review product ranges and observe shopper’s behaviour
  • To assist with monitoring, planning and forecasting long and short-term sales to provide the business with accurate information
  • To align customer requirements with business objectives, providing the business with a sales plan that is shared and monitored periodically
  • Identify and drive sales opportunities to enhance both the customer and Barfoots performance through a proactive approach to business development
  • Support the process of negotiation and business development opportunities

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • A strong understanding of customer relationship management
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the internet
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and flexibly
  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Ability to deal with challenging individuals
  • Commercial Awareness
  • High level of numeracy & attention to detail
  • Ideally educated to degree or equivalent level (HND/FDNC acceptable)
  • Previous FMCG or Food/Produce experience desirable
