The Role

A fantastic opportunity for a talented Commercial Manager to join our passionate, focussed Commercial team.

Applications are invited from industry experienced professionals, capable of operating effectively in a truly fast paced, dynamic working environment. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager will have substantial industry exposure and will play a pivotal role both leading and managing numerous prestigious retail accounts. With strong commercial acumen, candidates will be well versed in account development, price negotiation, tender preparation and management. Passion and commitment will be underpinned by exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a truly collaborative working environment. You will be proactive, with a methodical approach, keeping abreast of market activity and supporting and developing direct reports to enhance account/company capabilities and efficient customer service.

With a demonstrable history of delivering consistent customer results in the world of Fresh Produce, typical duties associated to the role will include, but not be restricted to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic account management and development
  • Day to day customer management
  • Ensuring alignment of customer plans across all business areas
  • Ensuring collaborative working with associated internal departments
  • Price and tender negotiation
  • Working alongside Commercial Director to identify & develop business opportunities
  • Proposing, agreeing, setting and benchmarking KPI objectives
  • Marketing and benchmarking activities
  • Market data reporting and trend spotting
  • Sales plans & promotions
  • Identifying issues and opportunities

 

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Educated to degree level or equivalent

Previous commercial experience in Fresh Produce/Food Industry

Experience managing multiple, UK retail accounts

Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written

First class negotiation, planning & organisational skills

Strong team working and relationship building skills

UK driving licence
