Overview
The aim of this role is to ensure the departments deliver industry leading customer service in a compliant, safe, and profitable manner and play a key proactive role to grow business within the South region.
The role will focus on leading the Transport Departments in the South. This includes our main distribution centre and two smaller out bases in the region.
Responsibilities
- Align department objectives and manage overall performance of teams to meet those objectives
- Identiffy, propose and manage resource to enable the departments to deliver objectives in a cost effective manner
- Lead teams through periods of change management and continuous improvement
- Recruiting new team members when required and developeing people already within the team
- Achieve operational cost targets through detailed cost planning
- Control and manage costs by defining KPIs
- Ensure full compliance to relevant legislations and regulation
- Ensure vehicles are maintained including services, MOT’s and accident repairs
- Ensure driver and staff hours are managed in line with regulation
- Ensure all food safetly procesdures are followed and temperature records are maintained
Candidate
- Industry qualification or relevant and equivalent experience in food product warehousing and transport
- Experience managing transport departments
- CPC holder
- Well versed in all aspects of operations
