Alexander Steele is currently working in partnership with a highly established food manufacturing business based in Welwyn Garden City. We have been asked to assist the business with the recruitment of a Factory / Site Manager.
Reporting into the Ops Director, you will be responsible for driving and improving performance in the manufacturing facility with a key focus on operational performance. There has been a large capital investment at the site in the last couple of years, so this is a great opportunity to lead and drive change at the facility.
The position is paying up to £80,000 depending on experience.
The key focus of this position is to provide great operational leadership, building upon the site culture for the future with a clear focus on both safety and food safety leadership alongside performance.
You will champion engagement and high levels of performance and will agree and implement the site strategy and play a fundamental role in the overall leadership and delivery of strategic objectives of the Site as well as the wider business.
Implementing a safe and compliant environment, manufacturing quality product as required by the customer agreed standard and develop a team culture of Continuous Improvement.
Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
Identify areas needing improvement and implementing changes.
Degree qualified / equivalent
Strong technical understanding - Food safety level 2 a minimum
Strong people engagement and ability to liaise with key stakeholders
Experienced in food manufacturing is essential
High commercial acumen
Able to identify and implement change within the site
Experience in a highly automated environment would be beneficial
Excellent leadership skills
