Accountable for the effective and efficient quality assurance/control of product and to monitor plant hygiene and practice and advice management of any issues
Responsibilities will include but are not subject to:
- Responsible for ensuring that operations carried out in their area are in line with legislation, customer specifications and site policy, ensuring that product is produced safely and of high quality - in line with HACCP principles,
- Ensure procedural checks are carried out to agreed procedures and schedules
Personally - e.g. – product quality checks, temperature checks, metal detection verification, environmental swabbing, equipment calibration, products weight checks, tare checks, labels checks,
Ensuring conformance by various departmental personnel
Ensure all products are labelled and produced to specification.
By observations of operations and sign of labels checks sheets,
Check product, steriliser and fridge air temperatures.
Attend meetings when required by the manager.
Conduct regular GMP and pre-start audit.
Monitor general product quality, log and advice department supervisor/managers of any issues.
Ensuring all working environments are kept clean and tidy.
Key Attributes, Knowledge & Skills
HACCP Level 2 (as minimum)
Food Safety Level 2 (as minimum)
Excellent communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Understanding food safety roles,
Understanding of General Manufacturing Practice (GMP),
Willing to undertake further training
