About the Job:
This role will play a pivotal part of the clients product offering to help drive savings and commercial performance across their customers. You will utilise you experience in fresh produce to help deliver an ultra-competitive range of products that customers and end-users will love. You will be able to distinguish what quality products are, be able to negotiate the best prices and build long term relationships with suppliers. This role is all about delivering commercial results for customers by buying using the best possible practices and procedures. You will work closely with internal teams in supply chain, quality, product and the like to deliver the best possible products and service to customers. You will be able to create and drive a strategy for the fresh produce category and be able to lead a team to ensure the continued success of the fresh produce buying team.
The Ideal Candidate:
As the ideal candidate, you will have strong commercial buying experience in a fresh produce category. You will understand the challenges of short shelf life fresh products that meet BRC standards and deliver value for customers and end-users. You will be able to demonstrate your commercial abilities and buying expertise. You will be able to discuss your methods and buying practises to show a robust buying process. Someone with a CIPS qualification would therefore be suited to the role. You will be a strong communicator and be able to work closely with internal and external team members.
To be considered for this role, as a minimum, you will need to have a robust buying process that can be applied to different product categories. You will need to have experience in short shelf life food products and have experience in, or be capable of, leading a team.
~£60-£70k + car allowance, bonus and competitive package
