We are the leading provider of fresh prepared food in the UK, with an international presence in the US and China. In the UK, we work with leading grocery retailers, focusing on their own label brands. 
Tilmanstone Salads, based near Dover in Kent, employs around 850 people and each year it produces millions of bags of leafy salads and prepared vegetables for a dedicated customer. It is one of eight factories that are part of the Bakkavor Salads sector in the UK.
A fantastic opportunity for a SHE Coordinator has arisen at our food manufacturing facility at Tilmanstone Salads. You will be responsible for the co-ordination of Health & Safety within the factory by providing proactive support to the SHE Manager and to produce reports & statistics to deadlines. 
It is essential that you have :

  • NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction Certificate or willing to achieve this within 6-12 months.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of the key requirements relating to Health and Safety and Environment.
  • Ability to undertake risk assessments and accident investigations to a high standard
  • PC literate working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010 packages (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Visio).

Description of Role: 
To co-ordinate H & S within the factory by providing proactive support to the SHE Manager and to produce reports & statistics to deadlines. 
Passionate about H&S and able to work under pressure, we are looking for an individual with good analytical skills with the ability to accurately collate information and statistics and the confidence to present information accurately and persuasively. 
As you will be required to deputise for the H&S Manager the successful candidate will ideally have the confidence to deal with all aspects of the role with the ability to manage both themselves and others. The role will require you to carry out site inspections, tours and audits and have proven influencing skills in order to effectively challenge behaviours at all levels ensuring that site business targets are met.
