This specialist business is dedicated to producing the highest quality products supplied to the UK retailer sector. Under the direction of the NPD Manager, you will manage the introduction of new products concepts, ingredients and methods from initial brief, scale up in the factory and to launch - this is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the major UK retailers.
You will proactively develop innovative products, generate new product ideas, make improvements to existing recipes, source new ingredients and packaging, complete factory trials to scale up recipes and explore new packaging concepts, ensure all finalised recipes are recorded and also research new ways to produce and improve the quality, processing, packaging, storage and safety of food in accordance with government and industry standards.
A clear passion for food is essential! You will be educated to a degree level in a food science/technology discipline and have some previous food product development experience, either from a university placement or full-time role within food manufacturing. A background of working with bakery products or a keen interest in baking is a clear advantage. You will be highly organised with good prioritisation skills, an effective communicator plus possess a good level of computer literacy including Microsoft Excel/Word.
The NPD Technologist job is based in the Mid / North Wales region and is paying up to £25,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
