Job Purpose

Assist with the end to end NPD process for all new product developments at the Fletchers Sheffield site. Ensuring all projects are managed correctly, within the required timelines and communicated effectively to the commercial leads & category/marketing teams.

   Role Key Accountabilities       

  1. To manage the Fletchers (Sheffield) NPD process from concept through to launch – Project manage all aspects of the process and manage the NPD gate process.

  2. Create & Manage critical path & check list documents to ensure all projects are managed on time, in line with customer & internal requirements.

  3. Ensure that the project tracker is updated on a weekly basis in time for the weekly site meeting. Communicating with all departments to ensure projects are moved forward with pace.

  4. Co-ordinate the M3 set up for all products.

  5. Ensure product costing is requested & progressed in a timely manner.

  6. Product handovers for all products (Development to Technical) to be managed, owned & delivered in line with critical path.

  7. Work with category/marketing teams to understand key trends and ensure that project plans are communicated to the Fletchers NPD team.

  8. To provide the development support and service necessary to fulfil all bespoke end user and own label developments for Fletchers (Sheffield) – Lead the projects together with the relevant Account Manager.

  9. Progress a rolling plan to benchmark competitors for all categories

  10. Assist with all sample / photography requirements for product developments, as/when required. Collate samples & arrange relevant administration for Couriers/collection on samples.

  11. Work with Marketing Team to assist with the effective presentation of products through product photography, video etc.

  12. Submission forms to be requested & completed from Technical, NPD Co-ordinator to ensure printed/electronically sent to customer

  13. Manage new ingredients from order to delivery, and work closely with NPD buyer to ensure all relevant information (Price, Spec, MOQ…) is available.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  1. Educated teo graduate standard – Ideally in a Food related subject.

  2. Creative mind set

  3. Excellent planning, organisational and written skills

  4. Ability to work independently, self starter

  5. Project management capability and proven track record of managing projects

  6. Team player and good interpersonal skills

  7. Strong communication skills

  8. Comfortable with key excel, word and power point

  9. Experience of the NPD gate process.
