Are you an experienced account manager / business development professional with a background in European food retailers? If so, we'd like to hear from you.

About Our Client:

Our client is a leading food manufacturer with a global reach. They have strong brands in multiple territories and are looking to grow this further. They are vertically integrated with sites across Europe to produce their high-quality products. Here in the UK they serve all of the major retailers and have a great reputation for quality and efficiency. They have ambitious growth plans to dominate other markets and are looking for the right people to help them on this journey.

About the Job:

This role will focus on their brands within new and existing international markets. They have business units established in many countries that this role will support (Africa and the UK) but the main focus will be targeting new European clients. So, there will be lots of travel with this role!! You will visit key customers in the target territories as well as supporting further afield and dealing with our client's sites across Europe etc. So, this role will be very demanding and challenging but also be very rewarding with lots of business to go after. You will utilise your business development and market mapping skills to identify new business opportunities, key customers in a given market, routes to market etc and then go and deliver the new business. You will have experience in selling branded products to new markets/customers and be able to draw on this experience to deliver against ambitious growth plans.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven commercial track record of delivering new business and increased sales for a branded business in European markets. You will be willing to travel, adaptable to different cultures and ways of working. Most of all, you will be a self-starter who can go out and deliver. You will be working within a small team of a large business so have lots of resource behind you but will be operating in a very lean/flat structure...if the sales don't happen there isn't anywhere to hide. So, you MUST be willing and able to get out there and make it happen yourself.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role you must be willing to travel extensively, have a proven track record in European sales to food retailers and/or distributors, ideally within a branded business. You will be a self-starter and be motivated by delivering new business and working towards goals/bonuses.
