APD Team Leader – Tilmanstone Salads: Salaried at £34,000-£38,000
Evenings Shift: 4pm – 2am

Bakkavor Group is a leading manufacturer in the fresh foods market, specialising in developing private label products for top global grocery retailers and well known international foodservice operators.

In the UK, our customers include some of the UKs best known grocery retailers including Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Asda and Morrison’s, who sell our products to consumers under their respective retail brands.

Working at the Tilmanstone Salads site and reporting into the Operations Manager you will help lead and manage a large manufacturing unit.

You will have good process knowledge and an excellent grasp of the day-to-day planning of the labour. Mechanically minded you will be able to multi-task, confidently leading two teams (circa 85 people), whilst demonstrating that you can work in a highly automated environment with extremely skilled professionals

You will be methodical in approach, highly organised with excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to work to short and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• To work in cohesion with your peer APD Team Manager to successfully run the evening shift at Tilmanstone Salads
• Effectively managing workloads and rotas ensuring effective cover
• Logically problem solve and look for solutions in a fast paced automated environment
• Manage capital projects - and also writing capital proposals
• Ability to lead, motivate a large manufacturing team across a shift based time span (85+)
• To have the ability to understand a manufacturing process, analyse the inputs and outputs of this process and be able to draw up plans to continually improve performance, both in efficiency and quality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Manufacturing experience
• Good analytical and numerical capability
• Strong people management skills
