Job Purpose:

An opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Manager to join our operations at Kara Foodservice Manchester.

Reporting to the Bakery Production Manager, the key focus of the role is to grow, manage and direct the warehouse operation and team ensuring that the products are delivered to our distribution centres and customers safely, legally, cost efficiently, on time and in full.

Key Accountabilities:

• Taking responsibility for the implementation of the business plan for the future growth
• Ensuring the ordering of bakery ingredients meets production requirements
• Ensuring goods are despatched within the network at the time required to meet service levels
• Leading and acting as Champion for warehouse management systems
• Ensure the rota patterns have the required cover whilst maintaining service and budgetary control
• Managing the warehouse process to ensure continuous improvement
• Managing MHE compliance for training and servicing to ensure any accidents and near misses are managed in line with company procedures.
• Ensuring that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and standards are adhered to
• Ensuring that Team training and development is carried out in line with the business requirements to ensure a high performing team and any shortfalls in performance is managed effectively
• Leading the team with high visibility through regular meetings and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility in line with the values,
• Carrying out 1 to 1 meetings with direct reports, agreeing targets and objectives, agreeing individual development plans to forge strong communication links within the department.
• Assisting the Production Manager in identifying and developing proactive warehouse approaches

Role Requirements:

• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Experience of leading teams
• Experience of operating business management systems
• Experience of all Microsoft packages
• Experience of a FMCG operation
• Warehouse management preferred
• The ability to work within cold working conditions
