Job Purpose

We are currently in the process of recruiting for a Day Shift Engineer (electrical biased) for Fletchers Bakery in Sheffield.

This position will report directly into the Engineering Shift Manager.

The role will provide additional engineering shift support and working hours will be an average of 42 per week working “4 on - 4 off”, 12 hour shifts, covering a 7 day working week, 52 weeks/year.

Key Accountabilities   

  • To carry out preventive electrical work on the bakery plant and equipment.
  • To be reactive to any breakdown or fault that may occur.
  • To be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own.
  • To ensure that all relevant documentation is completed accurately, i.e. shift reports, plant and equipment electrical checks, incident investigations etc.
  • To ensure that all health & safety requirements are met ascertaining to the equipment you work on.
  • To ensure all food quality, food safety and food legality procedures are adhered to within the engineering operations.
  • To participate in a continuous improvement culture, constantly looking for ways to improve efficiency and quality and also to reduce waste.
  • To ensure all company procedures and site rules are adhered to.

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Candidates should be fully qualified Engineers with an Electrical Bias
  • To have good communication skills, both within the engineering department and with representatives of other departments.
  • To have sound engineering knowledge and experience of food manufacturing plant and equipment.
