We are currently recruiting for a Production Shift Manager to join a supplier of high quality Food Products. Over the last few years they have grown into a substantial company with a turnover in excess of £18M and a workforce of up to 130 staff. Due to a restructure, they are now seeking a Production Manager who will report directly into the Site Operations Manager. Within the role you will be required to ensure that all production processes are run reliably and efficiently and that all targets and KPI’s are met by motivating and developing a diverse workforce.

This is a Monday to Friday role and you will be required to work a 6-2 / 2-10 shift alongside 1 other Production Manager

Production Manager Responsibilities

·Manage departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets, and within policies and standards.
·Planning and organising production schedules
·Support Transport Manager and liaise with critical stakeholders as required including but not limited to suppliers and third party providers.
·Assessing resource requirements and resourcing each area of production appropriately
·Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
·To ensure Safe plant and machinery, and safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances
·Liaise closely with the maintenance team to organise the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
·Overseeing production processes
·Motivating and driving all production operatives to meet all targets and KPI’s
·Plan, develop and implement strategy for staff training and development, establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of staff training and development
·Monitor, measure and report on staff training and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
·Liaise with HR and manage all staff in line with company policies and procedures (performance, absence, grievance and disciplinary)
·Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy-making as required.
·Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to Company approval.
Qualifications / Experience and Training
·Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a food production environment.
·BRC accredited (advantageous but not essential)
·Experience managing large teams
·Experience of reporting to senior levels on a regular basis
·Knowledge of continuous improvement
·Six Sigma or similar qualification
·Experience of lean Manufacturing methods
·Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook,
·Clear focus on high quality
·A natural forward planner who critically assesses own and team performance.
·Reliable, tolerant, and determined.
·Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.
·Able to get on with others and be a team-player.

£28 -35K DOE

This position is likely to suit a Production Manager, Shift Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor , Production Supervisor or Factory Manager

This role is commutable from Bideford, Crediton, Barnstaple and Ilfracombe
