Are you an experienced commercial manager or food buyer with extensive experience in food retail? Do you have a thorough understanding of supply chain which you can apply to a variety of distribution models and route to market? Does diversifying your experience into an international market appeal to you? If all of the above are true, this could be the role for you!

About the Role:

This role will focus on the food side of the business and will involve you leading a team to drive sales and profit margins within France and The Channel Islands. You will lead a team consisting of commercial planners, an event planner, trading planner and an international foods analyst to deliver commercial results across the estate of 50+ stores that generate well in excess of £100m t/o. You will assess the local markets within your responsibility to look at NPD, promotional planning, range and supply chain to continue the growth of the international business.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record as a buyer or commercial manager. Food retail experience is a must, so experience within or supplying a major retailer will be needed. You will also need negotiation skills, and have proven yourself as a great communicator that can influence others. You will be a natural leader with the ability to motivate and work well within a team. You will have a history of strong decision making backed by results of seizing commercial opportunities through your skills as a buyer. You must have a positive attitude and outlook.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role you must have commercial experience as a buyer or commercial manager with proven results. Due to the specialist requirements of this role, food retail experience is a must. You will have a working knowledge of retail supply chains and experience leading a team. You will need to possess gravitas as a leader and influencer.
