Pay - £8.50-£9-50 ph dependant on experience
Times - 6.30am – 17.30pm (be flexible as times do vary and move around dependant on seasons etc)
Days off – Friday and Saturday
About Us...
Watts Farm is a family-run business which covers 10 sites in Kent, Essex and Bedfordshire. We farm over 600 hectares of land, growing 60 different crops and employing nearly 200 people. We supply over 500 restaurants (70% are within the fine dining sector) as well as working with major retailers, the NHS, other packers and a range of wholesalers.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
A Line Leader is specifically accountable to the Production Manager, or in his/her absence to the Packhouse Manager for, in relation to packing of fresh produce, the following:
- Site / Facility Maintenance, Condition and Cleanliness
- Staff Personal Hygiene
- Stock Rotation, Packing and Distribution
- Finished Goods Quality
In addition, a Line Leader has specific Health and Safety accountabilities for:
- The safe condition and use of Plant and Equipment.
- Staff familiarity and compliance with Health and Safety Notices and ‘Operating Procedures’
The Line Leader is responsible for assisting the production manager to manage those staff working in the areas of production.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In respect of the above, the Line Leader is specifically responsible for the following tasks, and other key tasks:
Assisting the production manager in a Leading role and covering supervisor’s role when on holiday or days off.
The housekeeping and cleanliness of Facilities and Equipment directly in his / her control.
The implementation of the Companies Food Safety Policy this to include:
- The provision, condition and use by staff of prescribed PPE
- The personal hygiene standards of packhouse staff
- The health of packhouse staff
The required machine operation to enable product changes, film changes, preventative maintenance and general machine operations.
The day to day liaison with the supervisor and Packhouse Manager in respect of customer orders
Ensuring staff familiarity and compliance with Site Rules
