Brecks Cereal and Meat-free businesses are experiencing rapid growth in UK retail.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and competent Quality Assurance Assistant to join our Meat Free department.

We require a person full of energy and enthusiasm, and above all the desire to make a difference.  This is a unique opportunity to be part of a close Technical team that is taking Brecks Foods to a new level. Our company is driven by technology and operates in an entrepreneurial way.

The Brecks Company Limited is a privately owned business operating two factories at our Selby site. One manufacturing extruded cereals, the other meat-free products. This role covers both sides of the business, which are experiencing significant growth.  
The Q.A. Assistant role is there to ensure our high standards are maintained. You will monitor our quality standards; carry out internal audits, hygiene audits and product sampling.

This is a very much hands on role, where time in the factory making a difference is key to ensure the highest food safety standards.

The Role:

  • This is very much a hands-on roll, working 37 hours per week / day shift.
  • Supporting the Technical management in all aspects of food safety and quality, you will be key in ensuring the highest standards are maintained
  • You’ll be self-motivated and organised with an eye for detail and a questioning mind

The Candidate:

  • You will have some food industry experience operating at QA level
  • You’ll have a positive can-do attitude and will be happy in an environment working in a team or as an individual
  • Good attention to detail, excellent organisational skills with a commitment to getting it right first time.
  • Sound understanding of HACCP, Food Safety Standards and internal auditing
  • Good knowledge of word and excel
  • Confident communicator with the ability to forge strong internal and external relationships.
  • Experience working directly with commercial and retail customers an advantage
