Compliance, Health and Safety and Training Manager

Bardsley Farms are a progressive top fruit grower / packer based near Staplehurst, Kent. In the past 2 years they have seen large growth following significant investment from a Global produce business. This business is now industry leading and are looking for talented and motivated individuals to join the team. In line with their growth plans the Managing Director is seeking a Compliance, Health and Safety and Training Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Operations Director the successful candidate will be able to implement, oversee, amend and maintain the Company’s Health and Safety Policies, Ethical processes, Document Control Manual and QA systems. They will also be responsible for deputising and assisting the Technical Manger on auditing and customer visits. The role will include but is not exclusive to the following:

  • Develop and review Company policies, processes and functions
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Companies Quality Manual to latest BRC/TPPS/F2F/SEDEX and other relevant standards
  • Hygiene and Compliance Audits
  • Compliance Program
  • Oversee and maintain HACCP
  • Manage the Hygiene team
  • Advising the Company on Health and Safety and environmental legislation issues, providing advice to employees on all aspects appertaining to Health and Safety matters, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Carrying out incident/accident investigations, liaising with the relevant authorities and reporting findings to the Operations Director
  • Continuously seeking, proposing and implementing H & S performance improvements
  • Ethical audits
  • Managing day-to-day activities, to ensure this business is professional, efficient, compliant, legal, safe and profitable.

Applicant Requirements

- Previous experience in a similar position within Fresh Produce Industry with a         proven track record

 

- Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for errors and problem-solving skills.

 

- Proactive approach to working in a changing environment and developing processes where necessary.

 

- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven track record of leading a large team.

 

- Food Safety and Quality

 

- HACCP, NEBOSH

 

- Pest Control

 

- Internal Auditing

 

- Health and Safety

 

- Ethical Standards

 

- BRC 7/TPPS/Red Tractor/F2F/SMEETA etc

 

Package

  •  £30-£35K PA depending on previous experience.
  • KPI linked Bonus – up to 15% of Salary
  • NEST pension.
  • 28 days annual leave.
