Quality Auditor (Food Manufacturing) – Days – c£18500 – 20,000 DOE
My client is a reputable and well-known food manufacturer based near Newton Abbot.  They are now looking to recruit an experienced QA to join their team.  The successful candidate will benefit from an attractive shift pattern of Monday – Thursday 07:00 to 18:00 combined with the opportunity for further training
The role of the Quality Auditor will be to maintain and develop quality systems throughout the factory operations, ensuring that the highest standards of product quality and service are maintained. In addition this role will also cover Raw Materials offering the successful candidate the opportunity to enhance their Technical Knowledge
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Training 

Experience in a similar role within a food manufacture environment
Recognised qualifications such as HND in a food manufacture discipline, Intermediate/Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
Introduction to HACCP
Effective communication skills at all levels
Principal Responsibilities
To ensure that up to date specifications and third party accreditation certificates are held on file.
To ensure product specifications and production paperwork are available for production personnel.
To monitor Product Quality and Product Attributes and advise Technical and Production Management if there is any deviation from specification.
Production Efficiency and Unit Cost Reduction
To ensure that all raw materials conform to agreed specifications. 
To ensure that all products are manufactured in compliance with agreed specifications, thus reducing wastage
To ensure that all employees are aware of the product attributes and standards expected by the Company
To ensure that incoming product is in compliance with the specification and company temperature requirements where applicable.
To ensure that despatched finished product is in compliance.
To maintain production paperwork and ensure that it complies with the product specification.
To police the activities of all company employees to ensure that the Company Standards are consistently achieved.
To monitor the temperature of the chillers and coldstore in accordance with set procedures.
To ensure that monitoring equipment such as scales and probes are checked in accordance with set procedures.
To ensure that glass and brittle plastic within the production environment is monitored for damage in accordance with set procedures.
To ensure that Factory premises, plant, equipment and personnel hygiene are maintained at the highest standards. 

This role would suit a candidate who has experience of working in a similar position within the food Industry or a graduate with a Food Science Qualification
