New Product Development Assistant - Avonmouth 

The Real Wrap Co are rapidly expanding and produce over 5 Million sandwiches per year from our purpose-built factory in Avonmouth and we are looking for a New Product Development Assistant to work within our in house New Product Development department.

As a New Product Development Assistant you will work on projects including developing new products and also the launch of new and existing products. This role would suit someone looking to develop within a rapidly growing business.

Job Description

  • Develop products briefed by the NPD manager whilst maintaining the NPD process
  • Develop product recipe formulation
  • Prepare food samples for internal and external tastings as required
  • Develop products that are commercially viable
  • Provide initial concept costings to NPD Manager
  • Conduct consumer tastings
  • Generate and assess calculated nutritional information
  • Provide indicative product information for customer samples
  • Attend factory trials
  • Proof artwork as required
  • Compile factory recipe cards
  • Generate product information on factory labelling system
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure all necessary parties are informed of launches
  • Work to critical paths to deliver products and processes to an agreed quality and timescale
  • Drive projects to ensure smooth on time launches
  • Keep up to date with food trends and innovations on the food to go market
  • Understanding of competitor products
  • Attend fortnightly NPD meetings with relevant stakeholders
  • Support the business with cost saving initiatives as briefed
  • Annually review NPD processes & procedures to ensure they are up to date

The Successful Candidate will:

Job Knowledge requirements:

  • Food Science Degree and some experience within a food production environment or 2 years experience within a similar product development role
  • Basic food hygiene
  • Understanding of HACCP principles
  • Understanding of working to BRC level
  • Days and hours of work Monday – Friday 08.00 – 17.00
