Our client is looking for a personable experienced Interim Finance Manager/ Controller to join their small but dynamic team. The company is now putting a change plan in place to drive the business forward. This will include delivering the strategic objectives set out by the business.      

The Job:    

This is an all encompassing  fast paced role responsible for the areas of Finance, HR, Payroll and IT systems within the business.     
This person will work closely with the Managing Director in driving and changing the business in order to deliver profitable growth as well as achieving the Strategic Objectives of the business. The right candidate will have significant experience within the food/ fresh produce sectors, preferably with a thorough understanding of grocery & wholesale.      
Financial Control & Analysis      
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting      
Commercial Development      
Business Planning      
Tax & Treasury      
Risk Management, Pension & Asset Protection      

The Candidate:

Member of a recognised accountancy body; ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
Must have experience of the food or fresh produce sector.
At least, 5+ years' experience at “senior management” level in a substantial finance role.
Strong leadership skills with a successful track record in building and nurturing internal and external relationships.
Thorough knowledge of key governance challenges and proven commitment to the highest ethical standards.
Ability to think strategically, combined with demonstrated problem solving skills.
Ability to thoroughly evaluate financial and operational scenarios and to make sound judgement calls.
A sensible and motivational approach to management and an ability to engage, both internally and externally, with a broad range of professional and support staff.
Candidates require excellent communication skills, combined with sensitive decision making abilities and must identify with the organisation's ethos.
Comfortable with IT & Technology and proficient with SAGE or equivalent software packages.

Our client is a small business with less than 30 employees and this role will involve the person getting fully immersed with the business on a day-to-day basis.      

The person must have excellent people skills, experience of working at all levels and excellent knowledge of the grocery/ wholesale food sector.
