Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time      

We work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 7.00pm – 7.00am

Salary is up to £41,000 + £3000.00 shift allowance DOE

Bakkavor Bourne (Bourne Prepared Produce) has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join the team as an Engineering Shift Manager on Nights.

You will be required to manage a team of engineers to ensure adherence to scheduled work load and that all reactive breakdowns are managed thus minimising plant downtime.

The successful candidate will have previous electrical or mechanical background with a good knowledge of health and safety legislation. You will have a good understanding of operational DWOR and engineering KPI’s, coupled with management experience of people for at least 3 years.

Experience of WinXP and CAMM’s are essential.

Your role accountabilities will include managing the engineering shift team to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work so that plant availability is optimised. This will include out of hours site services support. You will implement agreed training & development plans to meet engineering & production needs, whilst ensuring effective use of Appraisal system with direct reports.

Ensuring engineering downtime is minimised, use escalation procedure, works accurately logged and monitor the repair time. Liaise with planning and operations team to allow for business impact to be minimised.

Compliance with statutory & Bakkavor Health & Safety requirement, ensuring reports work in a safe manner. This will include ownership of PPM risk assessment review and adherence to dynamic risk assessment for reactive works

You will be expected to manage contractors and suppliers, audit their work and ensure work permits are issued and that all work is carried out with no risk to the business.

Operating within budget and maintaining a control over spend identifying any areas of improvement.
