Gleeson Recruitment Group is currently working in partnership with the home of the celebrated Florette brand, Agrial Fresh Produce UK, in the view of securing a UK Finance Director to join their UK Board as a Company Director. The Midlands-based business is ambitious, dynamic and undergoing rapid growth. The organisation operates in an extremely fast-paced environment in an up-and-coming, high profile sector. In recent years, its turnover has seen a remarkable increase through both organic and acquisitive means.
With a business portfolio comprised of branded, own label, and B2B Food Service business lines, Agrial Fresh UK is keen to hire an experienced Commerce Financial Director who is comfortable with delivering growth strategies within a complex environment. The accelerated nature of the business requires a candidate who can prioritise under pressure. The incumbent will be expected to work closely with the Managing Director to lead and deliver on new and existing business initiatives, guiding the business forward while keeping the relative challenges in hand. This position will also play a pivotal role in coordinating due diligence and associated business plan work streams for future acquisitions.
The Finance Director will report directly to the UK Managing Director. In addition to ensuring that the robust financial control environment is sustained, they will be responsible for leading commercial financial activities which support the fast growth of the business. The position takes full P&L ownership for the UK business, leading teams totalling approximately 30 people across commercial finance, financial control and business systems & IT.
Full ownership over all external relationships (including bankers, lawyers, auditors and insurance related activities) can be expected. The Finance Director should take a leadership role in defining the strategic direction of the business, operating as the main business partner to the Managing Director.
Agrial Fresh Produce forms part of a global Food & FMCG group whose turnover currently sits at around €5.5 billion. This spans across 15 countries in 3 continents and across 5 divisions; Agricultural, Meat, Fresh Vegetables & Fruit, Beverages and Dairy.
Successful applicants will be qualified accountants with substantial experience in a similar leadership role – ideally within a food or FMCG-related environment for an international group. You will thrive in a fast-paced setting and have the ability to identify and achieve both short and long-term strategic goals, to deliver change, to challenge and be challenged.
