Pastry Chefs are one in a hundred (and thousands) and we know that you have an eye for detail and precision that has seen you make the cold kitchen your stomping ground for years, producing works of art. Now it's time to take those precise cooking and artistic skills onto another level as we have a role for a Development Chef in a major player's NPD team.

Some may not be ready to make the step from commercial restaurants into manufacturing just yet, as their ambitions within foodservice may not be achieved completely. For those of you looking to stay on top of the food scene, and who would like to contribute to the major retailers chilled dessert shelves this role will hit a whole new level for you. Imagine having your ideas within cream cakes, choux pastry, sweet patisserie and fruit tarts available to millions of shoppers across the country every day! It's a trifle exciting isn't it?!

All you knead for this opportunity is excellent high-end pastry skills from accoladed kitchens where you have learnt your craft. Whilst we're not asking for much then, you should also know that the role of a Development Chef is not just about excellent cooking creativity but also the ability to present and pitch your ideas to an expecting and discerning customer base, whilst balancing shelf-life, supply chain and logistical challenges.

Having your products reach the stores of the country's best loved supermarkets is no mean feat; Regular experimentation with the latest techniques and ingredients, benchmarking current products from key competitors and industry influencers, presenting in an articulate and engaging manner, understanding and awareness of both retail and foodservice trends being just a handful of what's required in this role.
