£70,000 - £80,000 (full package £90,000 - £100,000)
It'd hard to comprehend the level of commitment it takes to become a successful Operations Manager in food manufacturing unless you are one.
There's the midnight phone calls, unearthly hour alarm clocks and spending what seems like every waking hour trying to make things tick. And just when you think you've done it, the next challenge presents itself.
That's why you do it though. It's stimulating, rewarding and what you do best. Besides, you've been doing this long enough to realise that you're in the wrong line of work for an easy life.
As Operations Manager here, 'easy' and 'life' probably won't be used frequently in the same sentence but you're glad about that. It's a big site, producing a complex product portfolio for multiple major retailers. The day to day will require you to set your team up to deliver production of over 100 products whilst working closely with goods-in, technical and engineering to foresee and solve any potential problems.
Although good at what they do, they haven't quite got round to looking at Lean / continuous improvement and with no official programme in place, it's an opportunity for you to use your expertise to make a big impact.
