The Company:

Our client is Europe's market leading frozen foods business. They produce and market a variety of quality frozen food products across the continent. With a passion for food, sustainability and a desire to provide the public with nutritious food, this company is a genuinely fantastic place for you to work.

The Job:

As UK Agriculture Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing fresh vegetables in order to meet consumer demand. The majority of your time will be spent managing our client's pea operation in Hull. This will include working with everything from choosing pea varieties and working on crop production plans to getting the peas to the processing factory. The pea operation is made up of a number of individual farmers; you'll be working with this single grower group as you drive the pea production strategy forwards. You'll be assisted by a team of Fieldstaff as you do this. Your other responsibilities will include promoting a culture of continuous improvement, steering harvest strategy and representing our client at external events.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have excellent people management skills, previous experience of managing/working with farmers and experience of growing to agreed specifications. You'll ideally have worked within the vegetable production industry but we still want to hear from you if you have worked in a similar job within the fruit, flower or arable industries. Experience of complex crop management is essential. If you have your BASIS certificate then this would be an advantage.

Remuneration:

In return for your commitment you will be offered a competitive salary with attractive benefits. You'll also have the opportunity to develop a career with a leading frozen food company and be given options for progression as you develop.
