Role: Maintenance Engineer/nights 4on/4off - 6pm to 6am.
Location: Solway Foods, Worksop, Nottinghamshire

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an electrically biased Engineer to join the Engineering division of our award winning Solway Foods in Worksop. This site produces a staggering 90 million sandwiches, wraps and rolls for a leading high street supermarket chain.
This job will offer you the chance to build upon your current knowledge within a fast paced state of the art food production facility. As Engineer you will report to the Maintenance Manager and be part of team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. You’ll be an integral part of a team that keeps the production lines running across this 24/7 site.
Your duties will include (but not limited to); Maintenance of production, packaging and wrapping machinery. You will carry out planned and preventative maintenance checks including mechanical, electrical and PLC’s, react to production breakdowns and also undertake regular machinery inspections. You will be proactive and understand the financial implications of keeping the production lines moving and keeping breakdowns to an absolute minimum. You will complete maintenance and engineering checklists to high levels, therefore excellent PC skills are a must to achieve in this role.

You will be…
- An apprentice trained electrically biased Engineer – ideally 17th Edition qualified
- Preferably from a food production background or alternatively an FMCG environment
- Forward thinking and driven by a challenge
- Experienced in electrical, mechanical and PCL fault finding/repair
- Experience of drives and invertors.
- Fully conversant of Health & Safety legislations
- Results and KPI driven
- Analytical and good eye for detail
- Able to prioritise workloads
- Good communicator
- Personable - outgoing and able to build trusting relationships with site colleagues and stakeholders.
